One hard lesson I learned through my coaching career so far is this; you can't change anyone who doesn't want to or is not ready to change. Plain and simple. I work with people who are on the cusp of change because that thing that they want is so precious to them.

It goes back to our early childhood days, where many of us learned that we could and should fix people. It is our responsibility to save, fix, and caretake others. It puts people in this box that they aren't capable of taking care of themselves. The fixing phenomenon is how many of us are "being" in our relationships.

Tony Robbins says, "When the pain to remain the same is greater than the pain to change, that is when we are ready for change"."We are hungry for it, and we will do anything in our power to make it happen.

Bringing this metaphor into your organizations, we start to wonder what is really going on underneath the surface.

I know many people who feel they are in environments that are toxic and too political for them to be effective. Gossip and drama. Undermining and passive-aggressiveness. Some leaders don't walk the talk. There is secretiveness. There is unfair pay, still. People input 40, 50, 60 hours a week into their positions and even can't afford the $6.99 strawberry basket because it doesn't fit within their budget. There are people on medical leave because they are exhausted, frustrated, and feel hopeless. It's not your fault. It's not your organization's fault. It's the system that doesn't work anymore, and it doesn't work for the majority. We call this freedom. We want to move up the corporate ladder, experience fulfillment at work, better pay, more time off, more respect, and it seems to come at a price that we still have to pay in the end.

I could go on and on about what I see in organizations, and yes, I am also speaking from my personal experience.

"So what can we do about all of this?" you might be saying.

I have some questions for you first:

  • What do you want to change in your organization? From the people side and system/structure side.
  • Why change this now?
  • What will motivate your teams to want to change? What are they going to get out of it?
  • What's the thing your people want the most out of their careers?
  • What is on the other side of change? What would be different if everything you are asking for change, did change?
  • ....and what are you risking for change?

I can help you reach your change goals within your organization. I work with companies on behavioural change, leadership development, strategic direction, and exploring what fulfilment means to your teams at work and in their personal lives. I open up the gates to find out what matters to them and through this discovery, people show up differently at work. There is an engagement in their work, collaboration, trust, openness, a contribution to their personal lives outside of work, more action and thought leadership, to name a few.

I'm interested in learning more about what you want to focus on in your organization, book a complimentary consultation chat with me here and let's chat.

I am ready to work with you and empower the leaders within your organization to grow, change and feel they belong to their workplace.

Cheers,
